CONCEPT AND BACKGROUND VHS Fast Forward is a bold and hoppy Double IPA with fruity notes dominated by citrus, tropical fruits, and subtle hints of berries and grapes. In addition to the heavy hop dosage, the beer is brewed with plenty of oats and wheat to provide balance and a creamy, full-bodied mouthfeel.
This Hazy DIPA is built around Citra in all its forms – from classic to Incognito and HyperBoost – and is complemented by the elegant Nelson Sauvin and the fresh Motueka. The result is a beer with depth, complexity, and a forward-driving fruitiness.
APPEARANCE Light yellow and hazy – just like a VHS recording in sunlight.
BODY AND MOUTHFEEL Full-bodied and silky-smooth mouthfeel, created by a solid amount of wheat and oats. The moderate carbonation enhances the beer’s juicy character and makes it easy to drink despite its strength.
AROMA An intense and complex nose with notes of passion fruit, lime, and grape from Nelson Sauvin and Motueka, wrapped in Citra’s signature citrus and tropical fruits. An aromatic explosion that is both familiar and new.
TASTE The flavor is deeply hop-driven with layers upon layers of tropical fruit, citrus, and a touch of white wine grapes from Nelson Sauvin.
