IDEA & BACKGROUND: VHS Fast Forward is a bold and hop-forward Double IPA with fruity notes dominated by citrus and tropical fruits, complemented by subtle hints of berries and grapes. In addition to the generous hop dosage, the beer is brewed with large amounts of oats and wheat to create balance and a creamy, full-bodied mouthfeel. This Hazy DIPA is built around Citra in all its forms — from classic to Incognito and HyperBoost — joined by elegant Nelson Sauvin and fresh Motueka hops. The result is a beer with depth, complexity, and an expressive fruit-forward character.
APPEARANCE: Light yellow and hazy — just like a VHS recording in sunlight.
BODY AND MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied and silky-smooth mouthfeel, created by a substantial amount of wheat and oats. The moderate carbonation highlights the beer’s juicy character and makes it surprisingly easy-drinking despite its strength.
AROMA: An intense and complex nose with notes of passion fruit, lime, and grape from Nelson Sauvin and Motueka, wrapped in Citra’s signature citrus and tropical fruit character. An aromatic explosion that feels both familiar and new.
