Sol is a light and very refreshing lager beer with minimal bitterness. It is preferable to enjoy it ice-cold, and a slice of lime can be added to make it extra fresh.

Brand history

The story goes that one morning in 1899, the German brewmaster in an old brewery called 'Salto del Agua' (the Water Source) discovered that a ray of sun was falling over his brewing vessel.This caught his attention and he decided to call his beer 'El Sol' ('the sun' in Spanish). SOL® was launched in 1899 - so yes, it is older than other well-known Mexican beers (launched in 1922)!
