COLOUR AND CLARITY: Deep dark copper colour and clear (filtered). BODY AND MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied, lightened by a subtle berry acidity. Medium carbonation.
BALANCE: Lightly sweet with medium bitterness and a gentle acidity providing overall balance.
AROMA: Dominant fruity malt character with notes of caramel and dried fruit, complemented by a genuine berry aroma and a slightly complex spicy note (juniper and sloe), with an almost imperceptible hop aroma.
TASTE: Solid malt-driven flavour with some sweetness and light berry notes (blackcurrant and sloe), complemented by hop bitterness. Subtle notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and liquorice help balance the sweetness. Fairly long, fruity finish with a noticeable bitterness from the hops.
FOOD MATCH: Pairs well with cheeses and slow-cooked dishes.
OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: High drinkability (due to the gentle berry acidity) for a beer with this level of malt richness and alcohol strength, strong foam formation, and medium head retention.
