Mumme is a strong, dark and malty type of beer from the late Middle Ages. Perhaps it was the beer the brewer indulged himself with? In our version, we've added a touch of Nordic berries, as we imagine Schiøtz would have done. In addition to the Nordic flavourings, a number of malts and four types of hops are included in a Mørk Mumme.

Appearance: Deep copper color and clear (filtered).

Mouthfeel: Full body, relieved by a light berry acidity. Medium carbonation.

Scent: Dominant fruity malt character with hints of caramel and dried fruit, complemented by 'real' berry aroma and a slightly complex spice note (juniper and sedge) and almost noticeable hop aroma.

Taste: Solid malt flavor with some sweetness, light berry flavor (blackcurrant and sloe) complemented by hop bitterness. Light notes of dark chocolate, coffee and licorice that help to balance the sweetness. Fairly long, fruity aftertaste with some bitterness from the hops
