In addition to the strong hop character, which is the IPA's distinctive feature, this Schiøtz Golden IPA, like all beers from Schiøtz, has an inspiration from botany, which gives it additional flavor complexity. In addition to the three types of hops, Simcoe, Citra and Pacific Gem, rose hips and rosemary are included in the recipe. But only so it gives a fruity and spicy nuance in the aftertaste. An IPA is aimed at beer drinkers who love what hops do for a beer. A Schiøtz Golden IPA goes just a few steps further.

Appearance: Amber in color with a light touch of red – the beer is filtered.

Mouthfeel: Solid, soft and intense body, full mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

Scent: Powerful, fruity hop aroma with a slightly spicy note, discreet malt character and an almost imperceptible herbal complexity, but no identifiable hint of individual herbs.

Taste: Crisp, dry and hop-driven taste with a light fruity touch on a solid malt background with a light caramel character. A very intense, well-integrated hop flavor and bitterness that continues in the rather long, crisp and bitter aftertaste with discreet notes of complex fruit character and light herbal spicing.

The Schiøtz series is a tribute to Theodor Schiøtz, who in 1859 founded the Albani brewery in Odense. In addition to being a fantastically skilled brewer, Schiøtz was also an internationally recognized botanist - therefore the Schiøtz series is brewed with a touch of botany and Nordic flavoring agents, which give a more complex and exciting taste experience. As a brewer, Schiøtz was legendary and highly respected for his skill and for his unique beer. Despite Albani becoming one of the country's largest breweries, Schiøtz participated in the daily work in the brew hall as long as his strength lasted - and it lasted a long time. Schiøtz was a strong, but also very loving and committed person. He was against a hierarchy that meant he distanced himself from his employees – he wanted to work close to them and the beer. The community around the good beer has been an important element in the history of the brewery. And it has been the special thing that made Albani one of the most important breweries of the time. With interesting recipes and skilfully dedicated brewing work as a focal point. That is why it has been both obvious and respectful for us to follow in Schiøtz's great footsteps. The purpose is, in all humility, to create some Danish beers based on the special things that Schiøtz brought to Danish brewing.
