In addition to the dominant hop character, which is the distinctive character of the IPA, this Schiøtz Golden IPA, like all Schiøtz beers, has inspiration from the botany that gives it further flavour complexity. In addition to the three hop types, Simcoe, Citra and Pacific Gem, rosehips and rosemary are included in the recipe. This IPA caters to beer drinkers who love what the hops do for a beer. A Schiøtz Golden IPA goes just a few steps further.

- Appearance

Amber-coloured with a slight red touch - the beer is filtered.

- Mouthfeel

Solid, soft and intense body, full mouthfeel with a medium carbonation.

- Scent

Powerful, fruity hop scent with a slightly spicy note, subtle malt character and an almost imperceptible herbal complexity, but no identifiable character of individual herbs.

- Taste

Crisp, dry and hop forward flavour with light fruity touches on a solid malt background with light caramel character. A very intense, well-integrated hop flavour and bitterness that continues in the rather long, crispy and bitter aftertaste with discreet notes of complex fruit character and slightly herbal spice.

The Schiøtz series is a tribute to Theodor Schiøtz, who founded the Albani brewery in Odense in 1959.In addition to being a wonderfully skilled brewer, Schiøtz was also an internationally recognized botanist - which is why the Schiøtz series is brewed with a touch of botany and Nordic flavours, providing a more complex and exciting taste experience. As a brewer, Schiøtz was legendary and highly respected for his skill and his unique beer.Despite Albani becoming one of the country's largest breweries, Schiøtz participated in the daily work in the brewing hall as long as his powers lasted - and they lasted for a long time. Schiøtz was a strong, but also very caring and committed, person. He was against a hierarchy that meant keeping a distance away from his employees - he wanted to work close to them and the beer. The fellowship around good beer has been an important element in the history of the brewery. And that has been the special thing that made Albani one of the most important breweries of the time. With interesting recipes and skillfully dedicated brewing work as the focal point. That is why it has been both obvious and respectful for us to follow in Schiøtz's great footsteps. The aim is to create, in all humility, some Danish beers based on the unique things that Schiøtz brought into the art of Danish brewing.
