Odense Pilsner is largely the Fynbos' favorite pilsner. Albani Bryggerierne has been brewing Odense Pilsner since 1934. The brewery took over Odense Bryggeri and thus also Odense Pilsner. It has a recognizable harmonious, fresh and elegant taste tuned by use of malt and raw fruit. Part of its special character comes from Albani's use of the two hop varieties from Hallertau in Germany.

Albanibryggeriet was founded by Theodor Schiøtz in 1859, and was one of the city's first industrial enterprises. The brewery was located, where it still is, centrally in Odense.H.C. Andersen was happy for Albani. In a letter from one of his many stays in his hometown, he wrote about the brewery's product: "I cannot praise this beer highly enough. It is refreshing, delicate and strong. Try it!" Many did, and they still do. From being a local Odense enterprise, Albani Bryggerierne has long since become the entire beer of Funen and Albani has become Funen's favorite beer brand. Today, you find friends of Albani in all parts of Denmark, where you can get the Funen brew.
