To celebrate Odense's 1000th anniversary in 1988, Albani started up a special brew. The brew became in such great demand that Albani launched the special brew the following year. It is released each year on H.C. Andersen's birthday, April 2, and every year the label contains a new paper cutting made by the poet himself. The product is a very vinous beer that is fermented and with has been stored for a long time. The taste is fresh and light compared to the alcohol content.

Founded by Theodor Schiøtz in 1859, the Albani Brewery was one of the city's first industrial enterprises. The brewery was located where it is still situated, in the Odense city centre.H.C. Andersen was a big fan of Albani. In a letter from one of his many stays in his hometown, he wrote about the brewery's product: “I can't praise this beer highly enough. It is refreshing, delicate and strong. Try it! ” There were many who listened to H.C Andersen and tried the beer, and today people still drink it. From being a local company in the town of Odense, Albani has long since become the preferred beer brand for the citizens of Funen. Today, you find friends of Albani in all parts of Denmark where you can get the Funen brew.
