A light golden full-bodied under-fermented beer, with a malty taste from the slightly caramelized malts. German hops add a refreshing bitterness to the sweetness of the malt. Wiener Øl from Svendborg was a light beer in strength, but we have chosen to give it more flavor by increasing alc. pct. up to 4.7%.

The beer can still be drunk at the good Danish lunch table with highly coated sandwiches or at the dinner's lighter dishes which are driven by pork, chicken or vegetarian.
The Good Brew series pays homage to the proud Danish beer brewing tradition from 33 locals breweries, the oldest was founded in 1832. "Good Brew" was used to describe the best beers, and the recipes we have been inspired by. Brewed with good ingredients, and the same craftsmanship pride as back then, added to it we've learned about beer brewing since - so you can now taste the story. The story begins at the oldest brewery Odin, which was established in 1832 in Viborg. The name of the beer type can be traced back to the 17th century, when it evolved from one beer with extreme sweetness and low alcohol, to a slightly stronger type of beer with higher alcohol and more flavor. Double beers were especially served with the meal and were something you drank when it was supposed to be twice as good. Which meant you doubled the good malts and not least the alcohol percentage. In short, a pampering that gave more power and flavor. Based on a recipe from around 1900 you can enjoy this one Double beer which is an over-fermented full-bodied and powerful beer with a nice residual sweetness.
