In 1962, the giraffe Kalle was found dead in his stall at the Odense Zoo - poisoned. Since the Albani breweries had previously used Kalle in its marketing, the sad circumstances also became a challenge for the brewery because they now had to find a successor. Thus, Giraf Beer was born on August 13, 1962 - a beer aimed at sponsoring the acquisition of a new giraffe. The action was a success. In fact, there were enough funds to buy two new long-necked animals. Giraf Beer has a vinous and aromatic flavour.
