In the late 1960s during the Nigerian Civil War, the then brewmaster at Faxe Brewery was asked by the Danish businessman, Jørgen Galst, if he could brew a malt drink that could serve as an alternative to food in a country with a great lack of resources. Peter Rasmussen of course said yes - and with that Supermalt was born.
