Mineralfabrikken Frem A/S was founded by Egon Adelhardt Nielsen i 1949. He had worked at a soft drink bottling plant in Hadsund, and felt like it to start his own. He and the family therefore set course for Ribe - the largest city in Jutland without a soda factory. Here Frem soda water was born and quickly became popular in the local area. Frem soda water will continue to be produced and bottled in Ribe, but will remain in day delivered nationwide and over the years has become Denmark's soft drink, which is particularly known for its slogan; "Everyone on the strip drinks Frem fra Ribe".
