"Bering bryg" is also called "Havskum" and was launched in 1959 in connection with the 100th anniversary of the former Ceres Brewery in Horsens. The product is designed to honour an explorer from Horsens. If he had had Bering Bryg on his travels, he probably wouldn't have succumbed to scurvy. A "boot" is a mix of ports, lemon Pilsner, and rum or snaps. Imagine this - and you have a good idea of how the slightly sweet Bering Brew tastes.

At the end of 1856, Aarhusians could read in their local newspapers that the city’s six breweries were now facing competition from a seventh named after the Roman cereal and fertility goddess “Ceres”. The new brewery was founded by a grocery and liquor merchant, M.C. Lottrup, together with two pharmacists, N.S. Aagaard and Knud Redelien. After a year, M.C. Lottrup became the sole proprietor when the two pharmacists withdrew from the joint consortium. In 1914 in the domestic market, Ceres was given the title “Supplier to the Royal Danish Court”. The Aarhus brewery had received an accolade and a good marketing detail for the years ahead. The Ceres brand is particularly prominent in the Italian market, where Ceres is the largest brand of imported beer, as is the malt product Vita Malt, which is a major brand in the Caribbean and Africa, respectively. In addition, the popular Royal series is originally from the Aarhus brewery, but today Royal Eksport is brewed at Ceres’ sister breweries, Albani and Faxe.Ceres is still strongly present in Aarhus – among other things, as the main sponsor of AGF and its home field, Ceres Park.
