Royal Ceres 40cl beer mug 1 = 50 pcs
At the end of 1856, the people of Aarhus could read in their local Stiftstidende that the town's six breweries now had competition from a seventh, which was named after the Roman goddess of grain and fertility "Ceres". The new brewery was founded by a merchant and brandy merchant, M.C. Lottrup, as well as two pharmacists, N.S. Aagaard and Knud Redelien. After a year, M.C. Lottrup sole owner when the two pharmacists pulled out of the joint consortium. In 1914, Ceres was given the predicate "Supplier to the Royal Danish Court" on the domestic market. The Århus brewery had received a "knight's battle" and a good marketing detail in the years to come. The Ceres brand makes a particularly strong mark on the Italian market, where Ceres is the largest brand within imported beer, just like the malt product Vita Malt, which is a large brand in respectively Caribbean and Africa. In addition, the popular Royal series originally comes from the Aarhus brewery, but today Royal Eksport is brewed at Ceres' sister breweries, Albani and Faxe. Ceres is still strongly present in Aarhus, e.g. as the main sponsor for AGF and the home ground Ceres Park.
