IDEA & BACKGROUND: A weissbier inspired by the mystique of the East, where we have chosen to add dragon fruit to complement our choice of hops. At Anarkist, we are rarely entirely traditional when developing beer. Adding fruit that supports the character of the chosen hops is something we began with the development of our Bloody Weizen. Bloody Weizen thus became a kind of modern hybrid between the traditional Belgian and the traditional German weissbier. Weiss Dragon naturally follows in the footsteps of our Bloody Weizen. The hop varieties in Weiss Dragon have been selected for aromas that resemble what dragon fruit contributes to the beer — experienced as notes of pear or kiwi.


APPEARANCE: Golden and hazy with a rich, creamy head.


AROMA: Distinct character of dragon fruit, with aromas of pear, kiwi, and tropical fruits.


TASTE & MOUTHFEEL: Pleasant sweetness balanced by bitterness and a powerful aroma. Full-bodied, refreshing, and thirst-quenching, with a light bitter finish.


FOOD MATCH: Pairs well with any fruit- or chocolate-dominated dish. Suitable as an aperitif as well as for dessert.


OVERALL: A fusion beer with fruity notes derived from wheat malt, hops, and added fruit.
