7Up is created by Charles Leiper Grigg worked on developing the product for more than two years before he achieved his goal: refreshing and thirst-quenching. When 7Up was launched in the autumn of 1929, it was first under the name Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda, but shortly after the launch it was renamed 7Up. When it was launched, there were more than 600 lemon-lime drinks on the market. In the late 1940s, 7Up was the third best-selling soft drink in the world. 7Up has become a popular drink mixer in Denmark.
