AFFLIGEM 1/4 PALLET
From the beginning, Affligem Blonde impresses with its deep golden amber color and a modest white foam head. The scent is round, malty and sweet, and there are well-known notes of banana and honey. In addition, there are elements of ripe fruits.
The taste is powerfully sweet with fermented stone fruits and a hint of honey. Generous with slight bitterness and an alcohol content of 6.8.
Over the years, Affligem has won several international gold and silver medals, most recently at the World Beer Awards in 2019, where the judging committee commented this:
"Great looking beer. Fruity on the nose with orange and sweet honey. Good balanced body. Nice finish, lingering. Good noble hop bitterness balanced with sweetness."
More than a third of all Belgium beer sold in Denmark is sold in the fourth quarter and especially up to Christmas. Promotions and quarter pallet exposures drive a large portion of sales, with the need for an Affligem Blonde for a good dinner at this time of the year. It is particularly good for fish, light meat and Thai food.
Affligem isn’t a solo act. There isn’t one mad genius pulling the strings in our brewery. It’s the work of many brewers, working together as a dedicated team, passing on our ancient recipes from generation to generation. We’ve been brewing our Belgian ales for longer than electricity has been a thing – in fact our recipes date all the way back to when 6 monks started to brew the first Affligem in 1074. It’s why we’ve won so many awards for our beer.
